Record Attendance Marks 10th Annual Mopar Canadian Nationals

The Mopar Canadian Nationals, the biggest and longest running IHRA event in Canada, celebrated its 10th anniversary in style. The race, held July 17–19 at Grand Bend Motorplex in Grand Bend, Ontario, Canada, saw 350 cars and record attendance for the 3-day event.

The event marked the sixth stop on the 2009 IHRA Nitro Jam tour and featured three professional classes of racing, including Top Fuel, Pro Modified and Pro Stock. The event also featured hundreds of sportsman competitors capped by the Saturday "Night of Fire." Mopar Canada also rolled out a large display area at the event.

More than 50 Mopar sportsman racers were among those battling for supremacy on the quarter-mile at Grand Bend. Tops among the Mopar-powered competitors was Craig Marshall, who qualified No. 4 and advanced to the semifinals in the Stock Eliminator class behind the wheel of his HCM Dodge Dart.

"The Mopar Canadian Nationals is one of the most prestigious events on our tour. The event is rich with history and great racing," said IHRA National Sales Director Tommy Dupree. "Mopar has always been a great partner for this race. Their involvement and execution at this event is what makes it so prestigious."
