Top 10 Team Mopar Moments of '00s: #7 Bucky Hess Wins Inaugural Mopar HEMI Challenge Event

Bucky Hess claimed the $10,000 winner's purse and a spot in Mopar history by defeating James Keyes in a battle of 1968 HEMI Plymouth Barracudas in the first-ever Mopar HEMI Challenge Race Series event at the 2001 NHRA Mac Tools U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis, Ind.

The first Mopar HEMI Challenge race was staged as a stand-alone event to mark the 50th anniversary of the creation of the HEMI V-8 engine. The Mopar HEMI Challenge Race Series, which pits famed SS/AH 1968 HEMI Darts and Barracudas in fierce competition, has since expanded to encompass multiple events and venues. The series will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2010.
