Joey Wilkes took the wheel of Irv Johns' Hoosier HEMI Mopar Dodge Challenger Drag Pak with the same result, taking the No. 1 spot in Stock Eliminator qualifying at Phoenix just one weekend after Johns drove his car to the pole at the season-opening NHRA Winternationals.

Johns' Mopar Dodge Challenger Drag Pak No. 1 Again in Stock Eliminator Qualifying

Joey Wilkes of Zanesville, Ohio, drove Irv Johns' Hoosier HEMI® Mopar Dodge Challenger Drag Pak to the top spot in Stock Eliminator qualifying for the second straight weekend at the Arizona NHRA Nationals. Wilkes' ET of 9.935 was 1.065 under index and was one of only two Stock Eliminator runs in the nines.

NHRA Pro Stock star Jeg Coughlin also qualified fifth at Phoenix in his Mopar Dodge Challenger Drag Pak with an ET of 10.190, before eliminations were washed out by rain. The completion of the NHRA Lucas Oil Series portion of the NHRA Arizona Nationals event will be conducted during next weekend's NHRA Division 7 event at Firebird International Raceway.
