Saldana Comes from 13th to Win with Mopar Power at I-55

Mopar-powered World of Outlaws Series driver Joey Saldana earned a hard fought victory on Saturday, April 17, at I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Mo. Racing for just the third time since having 10 screws and a plate inserted into his broken left hand, Saldana started 13th but worked his way to the front to claim the lead for good with just five laps remaining.

The triumph marked Saldana's third A-Feature win of the season and pulled the Mopar-powered veteran within 17 markers of current leader Jason Meyers. The Kasey Kahne Racing driver also earned the KSE Racing Products Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars during the A-Feature.

"That was a great race car and a great race," said Saldana. "The entire team put in an amazing effort. I don't know what to say. I'm glad to be in Victory Lane."

The World of Outlaws will return to action on Saturday, April 24 at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Ind.
