Coons Hauls in Win with Mopar® Power at 'Tony Hulman Classic'
Jerry Coons Jr. scored a victory in his Mopar-powered Hoffman Auto Racing USAC National Sprint Car on Thursday, May 27, passing Levi Jones on Lap 28 to seal the win in the "Tony Hulman Classic" at the Terre Haute Action Track in Terre Haute, Ind.
The win was the second of the year for Coons, who drove a Mopar-powered midget car to the 2006 and 2007 USAC Mopar National Midget Championship Series titles. Coons is now second in the USAC National Sprint Car standings, only 24 markers behind points leader Damion Gardner.
