Mopar-powered Drivers Wrap up Chili Bowl Midget Nationals

A contingent of 22 drivers in Mopar-powered midgets competed in the 26th Annual Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Midget Nationals in Tulsa, Okla., over a course of five days last week, with a field of more than 250 total cars in attendance.

Shane Cottle led the way for Mopar-powered drivers, earning a spot in the 55-lap finale on Saturday, Jan. 14. The native of Kokomo, Ind. finished second in the main event on the third preliminary night of the Chili Bowl, to secure a spot in the A-feature and wound up 16th in the finale.

Also in action at the Chili Bowl was 2011 USAC Mopar D1 Midget Series champion Taylor Ferns, who was making her debut in the famed event. Ferns, who hails from Shelby Township, Mich., came up just one spot short of making the preliminary feature on the opening night and wrapped up the weekend in the first D-main, after advancing from the first E-main.
