- Received factory backing for his Super Stock cars from Mopar, from 1976 through the early 1980s.
- Allen started driving the team's second car in 1977; they drove as a father-son team until 1983.
- Stopped drag racing in 1986 and did not race again until Allen showed interest in 1995, when the pair began campaigning a Super Comp dragster.
