Collins Encounters Tough Road at TSCO 'Vegas to Reno' Event
Team Mopar driver Brian Collins' run of consecutive podium finishes was brought to an abrupt halt at the TSCO "Vegas to Reno" Best in The Desert Racing Association race on Friday, August 22.bCollins and No. 12 Mopar Dodge Ram 1500 co-driver Troy Herbst took the 12th-place spot in the Trick Truck division at the event, billed as the longest off-road race in the U.S.
Collins and Herbst clocked in at 21st overall in the event. The duo grabbed the eighth starting position overall and third in their class during time trials on Thursday, but were unable to capture a third 2008 win for the No. 12 Mopar Dodge Ram 1500.
Faring better was the team of Rob Clouser, Dave Arend and Micah Clouser. The trio from Kingman, Ariz., captured a win with Mopar power in the Baja Pro Trucks Class 1200 and finished 35th overall.
The Collins Motorsports team will have to perform a quick turnaround on the No. 12 Mopar Dodge Ram 1500, with the SCORE Terrible's Primm 300 on tap on September 5-6. For more information, visit score-international.com.
