Team Mopar Driver Collins Draws Pole Position in SCORE Trophy-Truck for 41st Tecate SCORE Baja 1000

No. 12 Mopar Dodge Ram 1500 driver Brian Collins drew the pole position in SCORE Trophy-Truck for the granddaddy of all desert races, the 41st Tecate SCORE Baja 1000. The race will be held in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico, Nov. 19–23.

Collins, 46, of Las Vegas, and his co-driver Chuck Hovey, of Escondido, Calif. are currently second in SCORE Trophy-Truck points. The Collins Motorsports duo has claimed two wins in 2008, at the Tecate SCORE San Felipe 250 and SNORE Mint 400 in March.

A total of 296 vehicles entered for the Oct. 11 drawing for starting position. Racers from 37 States and 14 countries are entered in the nationally-televised event, and will compete in 28 Pro and 7 Sportsman classes for cars, trucks, motorcycles and ATVs.

This year's Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 desert race will be televised on a delayed basis as a one-hour NBC Sports special for the fifth consecutive year, scheduled to air at 1 p.m. (EST) on Sunday, Dec. 14 on the NBC Television Network.
