It's Do or Die Time for Team Mopar Driver Samuel Hübinette at Formula Drift Round Seven: Final Fight
One race — that's what the entire seven-month 2008 Formula Drift (FD) season has come down to for Team Mopar® driver Samuel Hübinette. The "Crazy Swede" is currently second in the FD points standings and enters the Formula Drift Round Seven: Final Fight event prepared to go for broke in his chase for a third career FD championship. The final 2008 FD points event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 11 at Southern California's Irwindale Speedway.
Hübinette and his Mopar NuFormz Racing Dodge Viper SRT10® team, led by NuFormz Racing owner Shaun Carlson, enter the event 26 markers out of the lead. As the critical event approaches, the Mopar NuFormz crew can draw inspiration from its 2008 track record. Hübinette has qualified in the No. 1 spot at three of six events, has three podium finishes and two runner-ups.
"It's big stakes. We definitely want the championship back in our hands," Hübinette said. "We've had it twice and we're hungry to get it a third time. We're anxious to get out there and win with Mopar power."
Team Mopar and drift fans can view Hübinette's own personal recollections of all the FD: Final Fight action next week on Wednesday, Oct. 15 on http://www.moparspeed.com.
