AS A CAR OWNER

  • Spearheaded the build of the Mopar Drift Dodge Challenger at his Ontario, Calif., NuFormz Racing shop. The drift vehicle debuted at the 2008 SEMA Show, and NuFormz Racing driver Samuel Hübinette will compete in the Mopar Drift Dodge Challenger during the 2009 Formula Drift season.
  • Hübinette captured a runner-up finish in the final 2008 Formula Drift points standings, scoring three podium finishes, including two runner-ups (Long Beach, Seattle), in his NuFormz Racing-prepped Mopar Dodge Viper SRT10®.
  • Team Mopar driver Hübinette brought home three No. 1 Qualifier awards (Long Beach, Seattle, Sonoma) for NuFormz Racing during 2008 FD competition.
  • NuFormz Racing driver Hübinette captured a fifth-place finish in the final 2007 Formula Drift points standings.
  • Hübinette scored a historic win for Carlson in his Mopar Dodge Charger SRT8® drift vehicle at the Formula Drift event at Summit Point Raceway in West Virginia. The 2007 victory was the first in a professional racing series by a race car based directly on a Chrysler LX platform vehicle.
  • NuFormz Racing driver Hübinette has claimed nine career wins, a Formula Drift series high, and has finished no less than fifth in points since the series was formed in 2004.
  • Carlson, in his role as team owner and team manager of NuFormz Racing, also fielded the ShiftIntoGear Dodge Viper SRT10® campaigned by Chris Cook in the 2007 Formula Drift Series.
  • Along with Chrysler LLC’s Street and Racing Technology (SRT) division, Carlson and his NuFormz Racing team built the 392 HEMI®-powered Mopar Dodge Charger SRT8 that Hübinette piloted in 2007.
  • As owner of NuFormz Racing and crew chief of the Mopar Dodge Viper SRT10, Carlson helped his driver Samuel Hübinette capture the 2006 Formula D championship, on the strength of three ’06 wins.
  • Used his mechanical skills to assist Allen and Roy Johnson, owners of J&J Racing, in tuning friend Richie Stevens Jr.’s Team Mopar/Valspar Dodge Stratus R/T during the latter part of the NHRA POWERade Pro Stock season, helping Stevens Jr. earn two late season wins in 2006.
  • Was named as one of the Top Ten Innovators of All Time in the sport compact and drifting scene, by Super Street magazine.
  • Hübinette earned two wins for NuFormz Racing in 2005 (Atlanta, Chicago) and scored a runner-up finish in the Formula Drift standings.
  • Owned and drove his Team Mopar SRT4® on the NHRA Xplod Sport Compact Racing Series in 2005, grabbing one win and finishing fourth in points. Finished fourth in the points standings in 2004 as well.
  • NuFormz Racing maintained the Mopar Viper Competition Coupe that Hübinette piloted to the 2004 inaugural Need for Speed Underground Formula D Drift Series championship. Hübinette took three of the four events.
  • Carlson is president and founder of NuFormz Racing, a 12-year-old company that builds aftermarket components.
  • A famous engine builder and FWD performance guru, Carlson has worked on projects such as the world record-holding import drag car driven by Stephan Papadakis. Carlson was the first FWD builder to run in the 9s and 8s.
  • Built the first sport compact drag car with a tube chassis.

AS A DRIVER

  • Piloted the Team Mopar/SRT Dodge Stratus R/T for Don Schumacher Racing in the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Pro Stock Class for the 2006 season.
  • Steered his Team Mopar NuFormz Racing SRT4 to a win in the Pro FWD division of the NHRA Xplod Sport Compact Racing Series at the inaugural Palm Beach NHRA Sport Compact Nationals in Florida in 2005.
  • Drove to a 2004 finals appearance in the Pro FWD division at the K&N Filters NHRA Sport Compact Fall Nationals at Englishtown. Grabbed the Pro FWD Top Qualifier position with an ET of 7.906 and a speed of 186.25 mph at a Texas Motorplex race in August 2004.
  • Made two semifinal appearances in 2004 (Englishtown 2, Pomona) and notched a fourth-place finish in the final Pro FWD points standings.
  • Subbed for an injured Darrell Alderman in the 2004 NHRA Winternationals Pro Stock event at Pomona, grabbing an early round win and nearly advancing to the semifinals in his Pro Stock debut.
  • Set NHRA front-wheel-drive records for ET and speed in May 2003 at Gainesville: 8.22 sec @ 181.70 mph, the same event in which he captured his first NHRA victory.
  • Advanced to four semifinal matchups in the 2003 Pro FWD season.
  • Finished third in the 2003 Pro FWD final points standings.
  • 2002 Xbox Cup champion in the Pro Outlaw class.
