Clouser Finishes Second in Mopar-Powered Midget at Iowa

Mario Clouser aboard a Mopar-powered midget scored a season-best second-place finish with the USAC Mopar National Midget Series on Friday, June 24 at Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa. Clouser opened the weekend by turning the fastest lap in time trials of the 23 cars that were in attendance. After an opening lap spin in the main event, he charged back through the field to earn the runner-up finish.

Caleb Armstrong was victorious in the 50-lap event, which was split into two 25-lap segments, taking the lead from defending series champion Bryan Clauson on the 38th lap. Bobby Santos III finished third, with Adam Kramer fourth and Bryan Clauson fifth.

Clauson is the current series point leader by 30 markers over Darren Hagen, with Bobby East third, Kyle Larson fourth and Tracy Hines fifth.
