Mopar Powers Clouser to Fifth at Toledo and Eighth at Grundy County

Mopar-powered Mario Clouser had a strong showing over Independence Day weekend with the USAC Mopar National Midget Series, scoring fifth and eighth-place finishes in a pair of events. The native of Auburn, Ill. opened the weekend at Toledo Speedway in Ohio on Friday, July 1 by charging from the back of the field to fifth in the 50-lap main event, after a fourth-place effort in the third heat race.

Clouser was the fastest driver in time trials at Grundy County Speedway in Morris, Ill. on Saturday, July 2, with a solid 24-car field in attendance, to earn his second fast time honor of the season. He followed that up with a second-place finish in the first heat race and was eighth in the 50-lap feature event. Clouser is currently ninth in the USAC Mopar National Midget Standings.

Darren Hagen was victorious in both events over the holiday weekend to continue his dominance of the USAC Mopar National Midget Series pavement events in 2011. Bryan Clauson, the defending USAC Mopar National Midget Series champion, is the current series point leader by six markers over Hagen, with Kyle Larson third, Bobby East fourth and Tracy Hines fifth.

Next up for the USAC Mopar National Midget Series is a stop at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis on Thursday, July 28. For more information on the USAC Mopar National Midget Series visit http://www.usacracing.com.
