Mopar®-Powered Gardner Triumphs at Perris
Team Mopar® driver and West Coast Sprint Car hero Damion Gardner barnstormed into his old stomping grounds on Saturday, Oct. 18, and picked up a victory in the USAC/CRA Series feature at Southern California's Perris Auto Speedway.
Gardner, a regular on the USAC National Sprint Car trail, was behind the wheel of the Leffler Racing Sprinter, powered by a Gary Stanton-built Mopar engine. The driver known as "The Demon" took the lead on lap 17 of the 30-lap feature on the half-mile oval and never looked back.
Gardner joined several USAC National Sprint Car Series drivers in using Saturday's event as a tune-up for the prestigious "Budweiser Oval Nationals," set for Oct. 30–Nov. 1 at Perris. For more information on the USAC National Sprint Car Series, visit http://www.usacracing.com.
