Lux, Daskalos Score Top 10s in World Challenge GT Finale

Team Mopar Viper Competition Coupe driver Cindi Lux and Mopar-powered Viper Comp Coupe driver Jason Daskalos reeled in a pair of top-10 finishes in the SPEED GT Finale at Road Atlanta in Braselton, Ga., on Friday. Oct. 3.

Lux gridded her No. 2 Mopar Viper Comp Coupe in the 14th spot at the start of the event then fought her way forward five positions to claim a ninth-place finish. It was the fifth top-10 finish of '08 for the Aloha, Ore. native. Daskalos was the highest finishing Mopar-powered driver, coming home fifth.

Viper Comp Coupe driver Ritch Marziale finished just outside the top 10, taking 11th-place. Fellow Viper hotshoe Jeff Courtney captured the Racing Electronics Holeshot Award after he advanced three spots on the first lap. Unfortunately, Courtney's day ended early on lap eight after contact from Jason Foster's Dodge Viper. No. 9 Lala Motorsports Viper Comp Coupe pilot Gunter Schaldach clocked in at the 17th spot, clinching 2008 Rookie of the Year honors for the series.
